<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><p><p>Great Pacific Media is seeking a skilled 3D Generalist / VFX Artist to join our team on the acclaimed series Highway Thru Hell. This role focuses on recreating complex heavy-vehicle accident rescue sequences using detailed 3D animation.</p></p></p><p></p><p>Great Pacific Media is a team of professionals who are passionate about the development, production, co-production and financing of factual and scripted content. A subsidiary company of Thunderbird Entertainment, our work is seen in more than 170 countries.</p><p></p><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p><p>The artist will be responsible for rebuilding real-life accident recovery operations in 3D, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and visual storytelling. These rescues are performed by specialized heavy-duty towing teams using cranes, winches, rotators, cables, rigging, and other recovery equipment. Your job is to visually demonstrate how each rescue was executed.</p><p></p><p><strong>WHAT YOU WILL DO:</strong></p><ul><li>Recreate heavy-vehicle accident procedural rescue scenes in 3D based on reference footage, notes, and production guidance.</li><li>Model, animate, and visualize towing equipment such as cables, hooks, straps, rotators, winches, and recovery tools.</li><li>Show the exact attachment points, rigging setups, angles, and maneuvers used during the recovery.</li><li>Animate step-by-step rescue actions clearly and realistically.</li><li>Collaborate with producers, directors, and the VFX supervisor to maintain accuracy and consistency.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong experience as a 3D Generalist (modeling, rigging, animation, lighting and rendering).</li><li>Ability to animate mechanical systems, cables, and hard-surface elements.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to match real-world physics</li><li>Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.</li><li>Experience with dynamic simulations (ropes, cables, physics-based animation).</li><li>Currently legally eligible to work in Canada</li><li>Must be able to work in-house in our Burnaby office</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>REQUIRED SOFTWARE SKILLS</strong></p><ul><li>Autodesk Maya (primary 3D workflow- modeling, rigging, animating)</li><li>Unreal Engine (for scene assembly, lookdev and rendering)</li><li>Adobe Photoshop (texture work, asset prep)</li><li>Adobe After Effects (compositing, motion graphics, cleanup)</li><li>Blender (additional 3D capability is a plus)</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>START DATE: </strong>MARCH 9, 2026</p><p><strong>Contract Duration: </strong>9 months </p><p><strong>Salary Range: </strong>$1500 to $1700 per week, depending on experience.</p><p><p><strong>INTERESTED?</strong></p><p>Great Pacific Media and Thunderbird Entertainment welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
