We seek a business-minded actuary to handle pricing for various products. This role requires providing actuarial advice, influencing decisions through analysis, and understanding external partner demands and price modeling intricacies. You will also research new pricing methods, ensure smooth implementation of rating plans, and provide expertise in product design, corporate planning, and segmentation analysis.
The ideal candidate is an independent contributor with a curiosity for developing pricing strategies for strategic partnerships. While not a formal leadership role, you will collaborate with actuarial and statistical analysts, fostering a positive and results-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and oversee actuarial methods and assumptions.
- Create systems and methodologies for analyzing rates and products.
- Collaborate with business partners to develop strategies and implement pricing changes.
- Work with Analytics to review and enhance pricing and segmentation models.
- Mentor junior staff and act as a technical expert.
- Ensure product development aligns with standards.
- Understand your book of business to provide strategic insights.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of insurance pricing or 7+ years of P&C actuarial experience.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into actuarial analysis.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills.
- Hands-on scripting/coding experience, preferably in Python.
- Analytical mindset with a desire to validate and challenge data.
- Strong project management skills.
