<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Position: </strong>Assistant Retail Store Manager</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Brampton, ON (On-site)</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> $50,000 - $55,000 per year</p><p><br /></p><p>Our client is a growing consumer goods brand with a strong retail presence, known for delivering a high-quality customer experience. The <strong>Retail Store Assistant Manager</strong> is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in all aspects of managing the day-to-day retail operations in compliance with company objectives and procedures while enhancing brand image. The Assistant Manager’s main goal is to create and maintain a high-performing, functional yet welcoming store environment, with a focus on courteous customer service excellence.</p><p><br /></p><p>The Assistant Manager’s duty is to maintain a set standard of professional image and service on a day-to-day basis among all staff members.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>Store Operations</p><ul><li>Assist with optimizing store sales and increasing profitability to achieve agreed store goals and performance targets</li><li>Support the Store Manager with daily operations and help lead the sales floor to meet store goals</li><li>Assist with smooth and financially accurate retail operations, including daily updates of store sales logs, cash reconciliation, and cash variances</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area according to procedures and safety policies</li><li>Tour the sales floor regularly, engage with colleagues and customers, and resolve urgent issues while ensuring adequate staffing during peak business hours</li><li>Support merchandising execution by assigning tasks, maintaining displays, and ensuring promotional signage/materials are set correctly</li><li>Organize and prepare for special promotions, displays, launches, and store events as needed</li><li>Assist with reporting on sales, inventory, and team performance; provide updates to internal stakeholders/head office as required</li><li>Help identify recurring operational issues, support corrective actions, and contribute to improvements in store routines and execution</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Staff Management</p><ul><li>Assist with managing staff through effective scheduling, training, coaching, and retention strategies</li><li>Provide leadership and support through regular feedback, performance accountability, and ongoing development</li><li>Support onboarding of new hires and ensure employees are trained on store routines, policies, health & safety, and cash handling procedures</li><li>Help create staff schedules and ensure shifts are properly covered</li><li>Promote a positive, professional, and team-driven culture, stepping in for the Store Manager when required</li><li>Assist with supporting loss prevention practices and ensuring adherence to internal processes and procedures</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Inventory Management</p><ul><li>Assist with managing inventory by controlling stock levels, overseeing orders, and ensuring appropriate merchandise availability</li><li>Manage weekly stock orders and ensure store supplies are maintained</li><li>Support stock accuracy through cycle counts, inventory handling, and troubleshooting stock discrepancies as needed</li><li>Assist with inventory counts and ensure proper receiving, storage, and stockroom organization</li><li>Help manage inventory expectations and performance metrics, supporting continuous improvement in inventory processes</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Customer Management</p><ul><li>Maintain the company’s standard of customer service and professionalism, and resolve customer issues as they arise</li><li>Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer experiences and support team members in doing the same</li><li>Handle escalated customer concerns calmly and professionally</li><li>Support strong customer relationships by training staff on service expectations and identifying customer needs</li><li>Stay informed on new products, promotions, and launches to ensure accurate product knowledge and customer support</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Head Office Communications</p><ul><li>Assist the Store Manager in reporting with accurate and timely submission of sales, staff, financial, and inventory updates as required</li><li>Communicate with internal teams regarding store needs, product updates, promotions, and store execution priorities</li><li>Assist with offering suggestions for improvements in operations, promotions, and overall store performance</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of retail management experience or customer-facing leadership experience</li><li>Post-secondary education required, preferred in Business or a related field</li><li>Proven ability to coach, train, and develop employees</li><li>Strong operations experience in retail sales, inventory, merchandising, cash handling, and store routines</li><li>Comfortable with keyholder responsibilities including opening and closing duties</li><li>Experience with retail systems (NetSuite or similar) considered an asset</li><li>Experience with textured haircare or beauty products is considered an asset</li><li>Experience supporting events, promotions, or in-store launches is an asset</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><em>We appreciate the interest from all candidates;
