Business Development Lead – Vancouver, BC


HAYS Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading engineering consultancy to recruit a Business Development Lead for their Vancouver office, supporting business growth across British Columbia.


This is a strategic client-facing role for a dynamic professional ready to lead sales development efforts, drive growth, and build lasting relationships across the engineering and construction sectors.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead business development initiatives across BC and AB, including opportunity generation, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage relationships with existing key clients and identify new opportunities to expand the client base.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business strategies with project delivery goals.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to exceed quarterly and annual win targets.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, industry events, and strategic discussions.
  • Prepare and review proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and company capabilities.
  • Analyze market trends and identify strategic growth opportunities.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Maintain accurate records and pipeline tracking using Salesforce and other tools.


Qualifications:


  • 8+ years in sales for consulting engineering or EPCM/PM/CM services.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Must have P.Eng Civil Engineering
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with proposal development and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience is an asset.
  • Energetic, outgoing, and confident communicator with clients and executives.
  • Resilient and adaptable, able to pivot strategies and maintain momentum through challenges.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and team development.


Work Mode & Location:

  • Hybrid Schedule.
  • Location: Vancouver office.


What you'll get in return:

  • Salary Range: $100,000 – $145,000, based on experience and qualifications.
