Assisting Hands Home Care – Ottawa provides trusted, compassionate in-home support services that allow seniors and adults with disabilities to live independently. We are launching our CareExpress Program, a unique subscription-based service offering quick, task-focused visits across local communities.<br><br>We are looking for dedicated Caregivers/Personal Support Workers who are passionate about making meaningful impacts through short, focused, and reliable support visits. We're inviting caregivers who are curious, adaptable, and excited to be part of a new way of delivering care.<br><br>Job Summary:<br>As a Caregiver with Assisting Hands Home Care in Ottawa, Ontario, you will be an essential part of a team dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered support to elderly and disabled clients in their homes. Your primary responsibility is to ensure each client's comfort, safety, and independence while fostering a dignified, respectful environment. You will assist clients with daily living activities and provide companionship, emotional support, and reliable care.<br><br>Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Deliver task-focused, short and quick visits that may include personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, companionship, mobility assistance, and errands.</li><li>Work within a subscription-based care model — something fresh in the industry — that gives families more choice and flexibility.</li><li> Follow individualized care plans and document tasks completed during each visit using mobile scheduling tools. </li><li>Maintain client dignity, respect, and safety in accordance with Ontario Health & Safety regulations and PHIPA privacy standards.</li><li>Communicate promptly with supervisors about client needs, incidents, or schedule changes.</li><li>Navigate your local community efficiently to provide care to multiple clients each day.<br>Key Requirements</li></ul>
Education/Certification:<ul><li>Completion of Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate, Health Care Aide.</li><li>Current CPR/First Aid certification (required).</li><li>Mobility & Licensing:<ul><li>Must hold a valid Ontario driver's license (G class).</li><li>Must have a reliable vehicle with up-to-date insurance </li></ul></li><li>Residency:<ul><li>Must live within a 15km radius of the Bells Corner area to ensure punctuality and minimize travel time.</li></ul></li><li>Language Skills:<ul><li>Bilingual (English & French) – both verbal and written communication required.</li></ul></li><li>Experience:<ul><li>Previous caregiving or PSW experience in home care, long-term care, or community health is an asset.</li></ul></li><li>Other Requirements:<ul><li>Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.</li><li>Proof of up-to-date immunizations, including TB testing and COVID-19 vaccination.</li><li>Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays </li></ul></li></ul>
