<p><b>Title:</b> Carpenter (residential new home construction)</p>
<p><b>Location:</b> Saskatoon and surrounding communities, Office location - 120 - 311 Wellman Lane</p>

<p><b>Job Overview</b></p>
<p>Reporting to the Vice-President, as the <b>Carpenter</b> you will perform carpentry activities on residential construction sites. You will also assist in ensuring construction of homes follows established design and quality.</p>
<h3>Your Day-to-day Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Ensuring sites are clean, safe and secure. Installing and maintaining temporary walkways, stairs, ramps, and handrails, ensuring safe access and egress to construction sites.</li>
<li>Completing quality control inspections and repairs for deficiencies or coordinate with trades to complete repairs, ensuring compliance with quality standards.</li>
<li>Conducting service calls to assess and complete warranty work on completed homes.</li>
<li>Reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications, ensuring construction complies with building and safety codes.</li>
<li>Build and maintain temporary stairs and railings.</li>
<li>Completing required repairs and handling general deficiencies.</li>
<li>Loading and/or unloading construction materials and moving to work areas.</li>
<li>Assisting in completing basic carpentry related tasks or other construction labour duties as required.</li>
<li>Complying with Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant safety legislation. Immediately reporting incidents or near-miss incidents to the Site Superintendent.</li>
<li>Ensuring ladders, scaffolds and other devices are properly certified and in good working order.</li>
<li>Completing other tasks as assigned.</li>

<h3>Essential Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>High School diploma, or equivalent.</li>
<li>Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the Residential Construction industry.</li>
<li>Knowledge of building codes and requirements as well as varying techniques for different construction processes and procedures.</li>
<li>Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Physically able to carry out basic construction duties.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.</li>
<li>Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.</li>
</ul>

<h3>Work Conditions</h3>
<p>You primarily work on-site during regular business hours. Work will have exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.</p>
