Our client, a respected and dynamic law firm, is seeking a Collections Litigation Law Clerk to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment where your contributions will be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Manage files from initial demand to judgment and enforcement.
- Draft pleadings, notices of default, statements of claim, default judgments, writs of seizure and sale, and other court documentation.
- Coordinate and communicate with lenders, clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Prepare and manage documentation for power of sale proceedings and foreclosure actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date file records and timelines.
- Monitor deadlines and limitation periods using legal software tools.
Qualifications:
- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Law Clerk in Litigation.
- Strong working knowledge of court rules, processes, and enforcement procedures in Ontario.
- Proficiency with legal document management systems (e.g., Teraview, PC Law, Conveyancer, or similar).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
