Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a Construction Coordinator


This position is a full-time 100% onsite position in Toronto.


Position Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Construction Coordinator to support the execution of large-scale civil infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day construction activities, supporting procurement and subcontractor management, and ensuring that documentation, scheduling, and compliance requirements are met. Prior experience with underground station construction is considered a strong asset.

This position requires a collaborative mindset, strong technical understanding, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Coordinate and monitor construction activities, including scheduling, site logistics, equipment and material deliveries, and subcontractor interface.
  • Review and manage construction documentation such as RFIs, submittals, construction drawings, inspection reports, change orders, and as-builts.
  • Support the site team in implementing QA/QC procedures and ensuring construction meets project specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Assist in the preparation of work plans, staging layouts, and construction schedules using project management tools.
  • Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Track the status of procurement activities and ensure delivery of materials and equipment aligns with construction schedules.
  • Participate in field inspections and coordination meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues as needed.
  • Support both field and office teams through various stages of the project lifecycle.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices for civil and infrastructure projects; experience with underground station construction is a strong asset.
  • At least 3 years of experience coordinating construction activities in complex infrastructure environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction workflows and documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, change orders, inspection reports, and as-builts.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), AutoCAD, and scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, particularly when reviewing technical documents and construction schedules.
  • Experience supporting procurement processes and managing delivery tracking.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC standards and involvement in inspections and compliance checks.
  • A team-oriented and collaborative approach, with flexibility to support both office and field operations.
  • Adaptability to changing site conditions and environments; must be comfortable working outdoors and on active construction sites.
