A leading company in the industrial sector is seeking a Controller to lead its finance and accounting operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight, supporting informed business decisions and driving continuous improvement across financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll accounting, and cash management.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings; prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
• Design and implement internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance.
• Deliver financial analysis and insights to inform business planning and improve performance.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions during audits and compliance reviews.
• Ensure adherence to federal and provincial tax regulations; support corporate tax filings.
• Drive ERP, automation, and business intelligence initiatives across the finance department.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
• Regularly review financial processes and recommend operational improvements.
• Oversee all financial reporting, accounting, and analysis for a subsidiary entity.

What You Bring

• CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) – required
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with 3+ years in a leadership role
• Strong understanding of Canadian ASPE standards
• Expertise in month-end close and audited financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, Oracle, SAP, Epicor, or NetSuite
• Working knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and compliance
• Demonstrated success in process improvement and financial analysis
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communicator who works effectively with stakeholders across all levels and functions
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial supply is an asset
