We specialize in providing experienced, compassionate relief staff to organizations supporting individuals with developmental, emotional, behavioural, physical, and psychiatric challenges.</p><p>Position Overview</p><p>We are currently seeking Developmental Services Practitioners to join our team in a group home setting. Ideal candidates may have backgrounds in Developmental Services Work, Social Services, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, or related fields.</p><p>In this role, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities—many of whom have dual diagnoses and complex behavioural or mental health needs—within a structured, supportive home environment. You'll help implement support plans, assist with daily routines, and contribute to each person's growth, independence, and overall well-being.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Implement individualized behaviour support plans</li><li>Support clients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, and bathing</li><li>Encourage clients to pursue personal goals and recognize achievements</li><li>Promote communication using verbal and alternative methods</li><li>Work collaboratively with team members to ensure consistent, client-focused care</li><li>Assist in crisis management and intervention, including physical restraints when necessary (training provided)</li><li>Maintain clear and accurate documentation, including daily reports and incident logs</li><li>Facilitate participation in social, recreational, educational, and community-based programs</li><li>Maintain a clean, structured, and safe home environment</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Diploma or Degree in DSW, SSW, CYC, Psychology, or a related field (required)</li><li>Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, ASD, dual diagnosis, or mental health needs—preferably in residential care</li><li>Willingness and availability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule</li><li>Strong documentation, observation, and communication skills</li><li>Familiarity with behavioural intervention strategies and person-centered approaches</li></ul><p>Required Certifications & Documents</p><ul><li>Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (required)</li><li>UMAB (3-day Crisis Intervention Training) or willingness to obtain</li><li>Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the past 12 months or willingness to obtain)</li><li>Up-to-date immunization records, including at least 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, and a recent TB test</li></ul><p>Core Competencies</p><ul><li>Compassionate and respectful approach to care</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Dependable, adaptable, and organized</li><li>Works well independently and as part of a team</li><li>Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role</li></ul><p>Job Type: Part-time / Casual<br><br>Hourly Wage: $23.00<br><br>Shift Availability: 12-hour rotating shifts (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays)</p><p>How to Apply</p><p>If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact and meet the qualifications outlined above, we invite you to apply.</p><p>Please submit the following to </p><ul><li>Your resume</li><li>A cover letter detailing your relevant experience and interest in the role</li><li>Copies of your certifications and documentation</li></ul><p>We thank all applicants for their interest.
