<p>Our client, a growing<br>manufacturing and direct-to-consumer (D2C) organization<br>, is seeking a<br>Director of Finance & Operations<br>to lead financial management while partnering closely with operations and supply chain. This role is being recruited by an external recruitment firm on behalf of the employer.</p><p>This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep experience in<br>inventory-heavy manufacturing environments<br>, strong<br>cost accounting discipline<br>, and exposure to<br>Amazon-based D2C sales models<br>.</p><p>The Opportunity</p><p>The Director of Finance & Operations will own financial oversight while playing a critical role in optimizing inventory, margins, and supply chain performance. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and growth, with visibility to senior leadership and meaningful influence on decision-making.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Finance & Accounting Leadership</p><ul><li>Oversee accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and month-end close</li><li>Lead financial reporting in accordance with ASPE / GAAP</li><li>Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis</li><li>Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and financial discipline</li><li>Partner with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors</li></ul><p>Inventory, Cost Accounting & Margin Management (Core Focus)</p><ul><li>Own<br> inventory accounting and controls<br> across manufacturing, warehouses, 3PLs, and Amazon FBA</li><li>Lead<br> cost accounting<br> , including standard costing, landed costs, BOMs, and variance analysis</li><li>Ensure accurate COGS, inventory valuation, reserves, and obsolescence tracking</li><li>Analyze margins at the<br> SKU, channel, and fulfillment level</li><li>Improve inventory forecasting, turnover, and working capital efficiency</li></ul><p>Operations & Supply Chain Partnership</p><ul><li>Partner with supply chain and operations on demand planning, procurement, and production planning</li><li>Support vendor costing, freight analysis, and logistics optimization</li><li>Develop reporting and KPIs for inventory performance, service levels, and operational efficiency</li><li>Support system and process improvements across ERP, inventory, and reporting tools</li></ul><p>D2C / Amazon Oversight</p><ul><li>Oversee financial performance of<br> Amazon SKUs<br> , including fees, returns, promotions, and reimbursements</li><li>Analyze contribution margins and profitability by SKU and channel</li><li>Support scaling of D2C operations with disciplined financial oversight</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>CPA designation preferred (CPA, CA / CPA, CMA / CPA, CGA) or MBA</li><li>8–12+ years of progressive finance and operations experience</li><li>Prior experience in a senior finance role (Controller, Senior Manager, Director)</li><li>Strong background in<br> manufacturing and inventory-intensive environments</li><li>Proven experience with:</li><li>Cost accounting and margin analysis</li><li>Inventory valuation and controls</li><li>Supply chain and operations partnership</li><li>D2C or consumer products businesses</li><li>Experience with<br> Amazon Seller Central / FBA<br> is a strong asset</li><li>Advanced proficiency in<br> MS Excel</li><li>Experience with ERP and inventory systems (NetSuite, Dynamics, Cin7, or similar)</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills</li></ul><p>Why Consider This Role</p><ul><li>Senior leadership role with broad scope across finance and operations</li><li>High-impact position in a growing manufacturing and D2C business</li><li>Opportunity to influence inventory strategy, margins, and scalability</li><li>Competitive compensation and benefits</li><li>Hybrid work model in North York</li></ul><p>How to Apply</p><p>This role is being recruited by a professional recruitment firm on behalf of the employer.</p><p>Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply directly or reach out for a confidential discussion.</p>
