Overview: Adams Limitless is proud to represent a growing, design-driven construction and manufacturing company that delivers custom steel and aluminum structures across North America. As they prepare for their next phase of expansion, we’re seeking a hands-on, strategic Director of Operations to lead their day-to-day operations and help scale the business.



This is a business-critical role reporting directly to ownership.

The right candidate will bring strong leadership, process improvement capabilities, and the ability to unite multiple departments toward common operational goals. The company operates across multiple entities in North America, with nearly 100 staff including subs.

Key Responsibilities:


Operations Leadership

Oversee all operations across engineering, project management, production, procurement, logistics, and installation


Implement systems and processes that improve delivery timelines and output consistency

Lead daily and weekly alignment meetings to ensure clarity and accountability


Manufacturing Oversight

Drive performance and efficiency in a custom fabrication environment


Manage raw material planning, production scheduling, and plant KPIs

Lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline throughput and reduce waste


Financial Insight & Reporting

Own operational KPIs and reporting (lead times, delivery timelines, margin improvement)


Work with finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

Identify and execute on margin-growth opportunities



Team Leadership

Coach and develop department heads across operations


Build a culture of ownership, performance, and proactive communication

Act as the operational leader that bridges frontline teams with executive strategy


Growth & Expansion Support


Prepare internal operations for expansion into the U.S.



Manage quality and accountability for subcontractor crews in multiple U.S. states

Ensure company standards are maintained across all entities and regions



Requirements10+ years of progressive leadership in operations, plant management, or general management roles, preferably in custom manufacturing, construction, or engineered-to-order environmentsProven success overseeing multiple departments (engineering, manufacturing, PM, procurement, logistics, and installation) with full responsibility for operational performanceExperience managing teams of 50+ staff and leading independent contractors/subcontractors across multiple regions or countriesStrong understanding of low-volume, high-complexity production environments, ideally involving custom metal fabrication, modular construction, or architectural productsTrack record of implementing SOPs, operational dashboards, and process improvements that lead to measurable gains in efficiency, throughput, or marginHands-on leadership style — must be comfortable spending time on the shop floor, resolving real-time production issues, and guiding frontline teamsFinancial fluency — able to manage budgets, interpret P&L statements, and partner with finance teams to improve cost control, forecasting, and margin optimizationDemonstrated ability to align cross-functional teams, eliminate silos, and lead daily/weekly standups that drive accountability and communicationExperience preparing companies for expansion or leading operations during growth, including setting up infrastructure for U.S. or multi-entity operationsFamiliarity with ERP, MRP, or custom job management systems (e.g., JobBOSS, NetSuite, Syspro, or similar)Strong leadership presence and people management skills, with the ability to coach and elevate mid-level managers into accountable, high-performing team leadsWillingness and ability to travel to U.S. job sites and lead distributed subcontractor teamsConstruction safety and compliance awareness, especially in managing U.S. field crews under differing state-level rulesBonus: Experience in procurement leadership or vendor negotiation in a supply chain-challenged environmentBenefits
