The ideal candidate is a highly analytical leader who will join our senior management team. You will be responsible for leading the company’s day-to-day business operations (managing the company budget, ensuring operational compliance is followed, and addressing administrative issues).



Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership


Operational Vision Planning:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for scaling production to align with current and future business needs.
  • Establish operational goals and KPIs that support the organization’s growth trajectory and ensure alignment with broader company objectives.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine systems, workflows, and processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
  • Introduce best practices and industry standards to establish a strong operational foundation.
  • Perform analysis of data to help guide decision-making in areas of, productivity, reliability, health and safety, etc.

Production Oversight


  • Capacity Planning:
  • Forecast production requirements based on sales projections, market trends, and historical data.
  • Ensure production capacity is optimized to meet demand without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Resource Management:
  • Oversee procurement, inventory, and supply chain activities to maintain a steady flow of materials while minimizing waste and cost.
  • Manage plant inventory to maximize inventory turns while providing the required level of customer service.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Team Building:
  • Invest in training programs to upskill team members and improve overall operational expertise.
  • Maintain good employee relationships. Provide leadership and motivation to enable employees to reach their full potential within a team environment.
  • Support and drive change initiatives, i.e. Continuous Improvement Program, multi-skilling, employee involvement.
  • Maintain a clear line of communication with all employees and respond to questions and concerns in a timely manner. Foster an environment of openness and honesty among employees throughout the entire operation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Stakeholder Alignment:
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure operational readiness for new projects or campaigns.
  • Act as the operational bridge between departments, ensuring seamless communication and execution.
  • Growth & Scalability
  • Infrastructure Expansion:
  • Lead efforts to scale production facilities, equipment, and staffing to meet growing demand.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Sustainability Initiatives:
  • Support the company’s sustainability goals by implementing eco-friendly practices and waste reduction strategies.

Forecasting & Reporting


  • Demand Planning:
  • Develop robust forecasting models to predict production needs accurately.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Reporting to Leadership:
  • Provide regular updates to owners or board members on operational progress, challenges, and opportunities.


Qualifications

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in operations or production management in an industrial environment, preferably in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Proven experience scaling operations and implementing efficient systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Champion of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong Health and Safety mindset.
  • A university degree, or equivalent education / experience.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong computer skills.
