<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><strong>Director, People Operations & Culture<br><br></strong>Our client in Downtown Calgary is looking for a Director, People Operations & Culture, to add to their growing team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in scaling and maturing the organization's people function. This role owns the structure, governance, and continuous improvement of HR operations across Canada and the United States<br><br><strong><strong>Your success will be defined by your ability to:<br /></strong></strong><ul><li>Own people operations across Canada and the U.S., including multi-provincial and multi-state compliance, policy governance, and documentation integrity</li><li>Design, improve, and scale HR processes end-to-end, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and employee lifecycle workflows</li><li>Provide senior oversight and direction for payroll operations through partnership with the Payroll Specialist, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong controls</li><li>Lead benefits programs across Canada and the U.S., managing multiple vendors and ensuring competitive and compliant offerings</li><li>Own ADP Workforce Now governance, including audits, reporting, data accuracy, and system optimization</li><li>Ensure complete, compliant employee files, including background checks and required documentation across jurisdictions</li><li>Lead employee relations matters and performance management frameworks, identifying and escalating risks early</li><li>Partner closely with the CFO to anticipate people-related risks and needs, enabling more strategic decision-making</li><li>Provide leadership and operational structure to the People team, reducing the need for granular day-to-day oversight</li><li>Support the continued scaling of the organization by building strong, repeatable HR foundations and governance</li></ul><strong>Your strengths include:<br /></strong><ul><li>8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior ownership of people operations in both Canada and the U.S.</li><li>Strong background in HR operations, compliance, policy management, and reporting within growing or complex organizations</li><li>Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, including reporting, audits, and data governance</li><li>Proven ability to design, improve, or rebuild people processes end-to-end</li><li>Experience overseeing payroll and benefits programs across multiple jurisdictions and vendors</li><li>Strong judgment and ability to operate independently with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset</li><li>Clear and confident communicator who keeps leadership informed and aware of risks and priorities</li><li>Comfortable operating in ambiguity and managing complexity in a fast-paced scale-up environment</li><li>Hungry to learn, contribute, and grow alongside a scaling organization</li><li>Deep intellectual curiosity with a results-focused, continuous improvement mindset</li></ul> If you are interested in this role and meet the above criteria, please click the <strong>“Apply”</strong> button to send your resume directly to <strong>Shae Nesselbeck.</strong><br><br><strong>Recruitment Partners Inc.</strong> is an Alberta-based, Alberta-focused recruitment firm.
