Overview
We seek a skilled engineer experienced in building strong relationships, with excellent communication, technical, and organizational skills. The role involves supporting underwriting with technical evaluations, risk assessments, and loss estimations for industrial property risks. The position can be located anywhere in Canada with regular visits to Toronto.
Key Responsibilities
Advise and support underwriters in technical risk assessments based on fire protection expertise.
Conduct field surveys, prepare risk reports, and analyze risk mitigation strategies.
Evaluate survey reports, recommend risk improvements, and engage with brokers and clients.
Provide training and support on industrial topics.
Contribute to developing standards and industry initiatives.
Stay updated on industry trends and participate in industry associations.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering or Applied Science degree.
Current professional engineering designation or in final qualification stages.
5+ years in property risk control/loss prevention, preferably in insurance or brokerage.
Experience in industrial risk, machinery/equipment breakdown risk control is desirable.
Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
