ABOUT THE ROLE: The Dock Team Lead is responsible for ensuring trucks are loaded and unloaded on time, and that all picking and receiving activities are completed accurately. This role supports the Dock Supervisor by overseeing dock staff and day-to-day warehouse operations to maintain efficiency, safety, and compliance with established procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training & Leadership

  • Train new floor staff and retrain existing team members as needed.
  • Uphold and enforce standard processes and best practices with dock staff.
  • Provide coverage for the Dock Supervisor during absences.

Operational Tasks

  • Pick and receive customer orders accurately.
  • Expedite shipments and ensure timely service of freight.
  • Perform monthly building and fire extinguisher inspections.
  • Audit employee forklift inspections weekly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Issue Resolution

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal floor needs.
  • Resolve floor-related issues and report findings to the Dock Supervisor.

Customer & Communication

  • Communicate professionally with internal teams and external customers as required.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch and manage appointment bookings.


Safety

  • Comply with safety principles and protocols at all times.
  • Promote and uphold safety practices with dock staff.
  • Complete daily safety checklists (RBI) in collaboration with the Dock Supervisor.
  • Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the Dock Supervisor.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • External Customers (as needed)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ Years in Warehousing facility
  • 3+ Years Leadership Experience in a safety sensitive area
  • Must Have valid forklift license – Clamp operator nice to have
  • Experience with First Aid Administration
