This role will require some travel to project sites. The <strong>Document Control Manager</strong> is responsible for establishing, stabilizing, and advancing document control practices across the organization, with an initial focus on priority projects and foundational systems of work.</p><p>This role will work closely with Quality, Engineering, Project Operations, and Technical Services to ensure project documentation meets client, industry, and corporate requirements. The Document Control Manager plays a key role in promoting quality awareness, compliance, and continuous improvement, while building a scalable document control framework aligned to the current maturity of the business.</p><p><strong>Job Overview: <br /></strong><strong>Position(s): </strong>Document Control Manager<strong><br /></strong><strong>Work Hours:</strong> flexible work hours available<br /><strong>Location:</strong> work <span >location/arrangement</span> will be finalized with the successful candidate based on qualifications and suitability, subject to team requirements and business needs<br /><strong>Travel: </strong>some travel may be required time to time<strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>WHAT WE OFFER:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive Salary</li><li>Comprehensive health benefits plan </li><li>Enrolment in Pension Program</li><li>Company phone, iPad, and Laptop</li><li>Vacation Days and PTO Days</li><li>Flexible work schedule</li><li>Family Oriented work environment</li><li>Opportunities for career growth and development </li></ul><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasks</li><li>Establish and implement foundational document control practices, standards, and workflows aligned with corporate, client, and industry requirements</li><li>Define and maintain core templates, filing conventions, and minimum documentation expectations for projects</li><li>Ensure required records related to document control are maintained accurately and consistently</li><li>Partner with Project Directors and Project Managers to support document control needs on active and priority projects</li><li>Ensure document control practices are practical, usable, and aligned with real-world project execution</li><li>Support project closeouts, lessons learned, and documentation handover requirements</li><li>Assess current-state document control practices and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities</li><li>Define <strong>requirements and readiness criteria</strong> for future enhancements, including software tools, training programs, and expanded program scope</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives related to document control maturity across company groups and services</li><li>Liaise with IT and internal stakeholders to <strong>support requirements definition and planning</strong> for document control systems and tools, as business readiness allows</li><li>Contribute to the development of <strong>practical guidance and user support materials</strong> for document control practices</li><li>Collaborate with Quality and Training partners to align document control guidance with broader onboarding and quality initiatives</li><li>Support audits and reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and document control expectations</li><li>Assist the Quality Control Manager with Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and quality documentation as required</li><li>Participate in RFPs and tenders with respect to document control requirements</li><li>Support investigation and resolution of quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions</li><li>Contribute to the development of standards and guidance for document controllers supporting Forbes Bros. projects</li><li>As program maturity and demand increase, support the evolution of document control resourcing and capability within the organization</li><li>Other tasks and functions as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:</strong></p><ul><li>Diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field</li><li>A minimum of five (5) + years of experience in Document Management in a construction setting, preferably within a utilities or civil construction company, <strong><em>is required</em></strong></li><li>Proven background as a Document Control Manager in large scope projects, <em><strong>is required</strong></em></li><li>Prior experience supporting document control on medium to large-scale projects</li><li>Strong listening, problem solving and time management skills with the ability to meet various deadlines</li><li>Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate in a professional manner</li><li>Comfortable operating in evolving environments and building structure where limited formal systems exist</li><li>Ability to work with independently or within a team environment with minimal supervision</li><li>Able and willing to travel as required</li></ul><p><em> <strong>Forbes Bros Ltd. </strong> is an equal opportunity employer committed to best practices in recruiting and hiring to promote diversity and equality in the workplace.
