Job Title: Economic Research Analyst
Role Description:
Core member of the research team responsible for assisting the Chief Economist and Senior Economist in the analysis and writing of our publications covering data commentary and thematic ideas on the U.S., Canadian, and Global economies for our client base of institutional asset managers, financial advisors, and high-net-worth individual investors. Responsibilities also include assisting in the preparation and updating of PowerPoint presentations for in-house publications and external events; editing, proofreading, and reviewing all research materials; and playing a critical role in the morning publication process.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Finance with a minimum two years of work experience.

- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong analytical, statistical, econometric, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Haver Analytics and Bloomberg preferred
- Communication & collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with proficiency in English
- Supportive team player with superior interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Organization & time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under time constraints
- Experience producing written reports on economic topics
- Strong data handling and visualization skills in MS Excel and statistical software (Python/R coding and/or Bloomberg experience a plus)
- High level of familiarity with the U.S. economy and high-frequency U.S. economic data flow
- Ability to generate new and distinctive ideas for research themes
- Comfortable working standalone and/or in small research groups
- Professionalism and enthusiasm to serve and inform clients, and a “self-starter” attitude.
