Our team delivers transformers of the highest quality through superior design, quality workmanship and attention to our clients’ individual needs.</p><p>Due to the growth of our business, we have an opening for an <strong>Electrical Design Engineer</strong> to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of experience in<strong> the design of liquid filled power transformers and mobile substations</strong> from 5 to 200MVA, up to 240 kV.</p><p><strong>Major Areas of Responsibility </strong></p><ul><li><p>Perform the electrical design of power transformers from 1 to 200 MVA and up to 240 kV to client requirements in accordance with company design standards, practices and industry codes</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Validate designs with simulation techniques – transient analysis, field plot analysis</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Optimize the designs with respect to product quality, reliability, longevity and cost</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Work in close cooperation with the manufacturing team to ensure design allows ease of manufacture and testing</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Interface directly with client to understand customer technical requirements</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Prepare manufacturing work instructions for winding and bills of winding materials</p></li></ul><p><strong>Requirements </strong></p><ul><li><p>Strong understanding of transformer engineering theory and practice</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>5+ years of power transformer design experience, preferably to IEEE and CSA design standards</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Experience with mobile substation design is highly desirable</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Proficiency in developing detailed Electrical drawings, specifications and manufacturing work instructions</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Able to effectively discuss, explain and coordinate transformer designs with peers and across functions</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Excellent organization skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Solid computer skills including simulation, optimization, computational analysis, 2D CAD</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Strong communication skills in English, spoken and written</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>P.Eng eligible</p></li></ul><p><strong>Benefits </strong></p><ul><li><p>Competitive salary and benefits package</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Clean, modern and friendly working environment</p></li></ul><br><br></p></p>Create Your Resume First
