Job Overview
WSP’s Power subsector, part of the ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients nationwide. We offer services including technical studies, project management, detailed design, and site services, recognized for excellence in development and rehabilitation projects. We seek an experienced Electrical Inspector with Utilities experience to join our team in Toronto, Etobicoke, or Thornhill.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site audits of hydro distribution installations in Toronto and Horseshoe areas.
- Monitor asset conditions and construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, safety, regulatory, and client standards.
- Review IFC packages, participate in pre- and post-construction meetings, and conduct field risk assessments.
- Verify construction work, issue non-compliance reports, and monitor corrective actions.
- Review contractor billing and change orders, and ensure project completion and documentation.
Qualifications
- Power Line Technician, Electrician Certificate, or Electrical Engineering education/experience.
- 3-5 years of utility and infrastructure inspection experience.
- Member of PEO as EIT or P.Eng is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical safety rules, Toronto Hydro standards, and applicable codes.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
