With nearly 100 years of diverse market experience, we are a forward-thinking organization with a strong track record of delivering operational excellence and customer focused solutions that stand the test of time.</p><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>The Estimator-Industrial is responsible for providing detailed estimates based upon conceptual documents as well as schematic, design development and construction documents. Working in a team environment, the estimator also provides technical and administrative support to project operations with emphasis on mechanical estimating, reporting and monitoring progress, planning, scheduling and dealing with project change.</p><p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.</li><li>Estimate and maintain the mechanical tendering process, set up cost monitoring, reporting systems and procedures.</li><li>Coordinate Mechanical price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, engineers, designers and architects.</li><li>Participate in Industrial site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-off meetings, project closing and operational meetings with the project managers as required.</li><li>Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.</li><li>Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors.</li><li>Participate in mechanical material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs as required.</li><li>Coordinate various small mechanical projects.</li></ul><p><strong>Competency Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Change Orientation (open to change and able to identify where it is needed and how to make it happen).</li><li>Communicate Effectively (verbally and in writing).</li><li>Continuous Learning (ongoing effort to learn and contribute to the learnings of others).</li><li>Customer Focus (understand the needs and perspectives of both internal and external customers).</li><li>Hold Self and Others Accountable (take personal responsibility to meet commitments).</li><li>Problem Solving and Innovation (ability to approach problems logically and seek innovative solutions).</li><li>Teamwork and Collaboration (work cooperatively and collaboratively with others).</li><li>Value and Respect Others (encourages and supports diversity).</li></ul><p><strong>Education & Skill Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated track record of project estimating in the industrial markets.</li><li>Completion of a college program in mechanical engineering or several years of experience as a qualified trade person in the Industrial construction trade.</li><li>Previous experience as a supervisor and/or superintendent beneficial.</li><li>Intermediate level experience with estimating programs</li><li>Competency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications </li><li>Comprehensive understanding of estimating, forecasting and scheduling in order to provide strategic and fiscal information to clients and management.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to shift priorities and flexibility with working hours.</li><li>Ability to work in a team environment with commitment to project excellence.</li><li>Communicate effectively both verbal and written.</li><li>Available to travel.</li></ul><p>Please be advised that a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.</p><p>We welcome and encourage applications from persons with disabilities.
