Locations: Salmon Arm or Vernon
Position: Family Lawyer/Civil Litigation (5+ YOC, no book required)
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage family law and civil litigation files.
- Handle a wide range of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
- Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials.
- Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients.
- Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications.
- Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials.
- Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end.
- Experience in general civil litigation is an asset.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of current experience in British Columbia family law and/or civil litigation practice.
- Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently.
- Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
- Desire to become part of the community served.
Compensation:
- Salary based on the year of call and experience.
