Our client, a Top 5 bank in Canada, is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager for a 6 contract with strong potential for extension or conversion to full-time. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence two days per week (Wednesday and Thursday) in downtown Toronto.

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead a Finance-related project workstream within a large-scale, high-impact corporate initiative.
  • Own end-to-end project delivery, including planning, scoping, requirement gathering, budgeting, execution, and closure.
  • Work closely with business leads to clarify scope, build and track workstream requirements, and navigate ambiguity.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, issue logs, and risk registers (RAID management).
  • Report regularly to executive stakeholders and facilitate SteerCo and team meetings.

Governance & Methodology


  • Execute workstreams in alignment with enterprise PMO standards and frameworks (familiarity with enterprise delivery frameworks is an asset).
  • Coordinate with other project managers to manage interdependencies and shared deliverables.
  • Monitor and manage project milestones, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate daily with Finance, Technology, and PMO teams.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders, business sponsors, and enterprise program teams to ensure alignment on scope, progress, and risks.
  • Influence and support decision-making at multiple organizational levels.

Must-Have Skills:


  • 8+ years of hands-on experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Proven ability to lead project workstreams independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, stakeholder management, and executive communications.
  • Expertise in risk, issue, and dependency management.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Comfortable managing in a hybrid environment with strong collaboration tools.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working within enterprise financial or banking institutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise delivery frameworks (e.g., EDF or similar).
  • Understanding of Finance business functions such as controllership, accounting, or treasury.
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, or a related field.
