Position: Financial Analyst II
Site: Princess Margaret Hospital, 620 University Avenue, 14th floor
Department: Medicine
Reports to: Finance Business Manager
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Status: Permanent, full-time
Closing Date: July 4,2025
- Process and manage invoices, payments(EFTs, wires, cheques)to ensure timely and accurate disbursements while maintaining proper documentation and compliance.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve payment or billing inquiries, maintain up-to-date vendor records and setting up new vendors in the system
- Prepare and submit HST remittances to the CRA
- Prepare financial reports and month-end reconciliation with appropriate analysis, investigating any discrepancies in SAP and excel to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
- Maintain and update financial records on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to support reporting and compliance requirements.
- Develop, analyze, report, and present financial metrics and recommendations as needed
- Identify accounting issues and process inefficiencies, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Perform bookkeeping duties for additional programs, ensuring accurate tracking of financial transactions and allocations.
- Perform cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested, including providing back-up support for other financial analysts (i.e. perform bank reconciliations, AR duties, prepare bank deposits)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent program
- 2-5 years related experience in an accounting environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend actionable solutions.
- Proficient in preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial reports and reconciliations using tools such as Excel and SAP (or similar ERP systems).
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-pased environment, multi-task and have excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry, financial documentation, and reconciliation tasks.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify process inefficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and auditors.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Experience working in healthcare environment is an asset.
