<p><h3>Job Title</h3><p><b>Fire Alarm System Designer</b> at <b>WSP in Canada</b></p>
<h3>The Opportunity</h3>
<p>You will assist with the preparation of engineering drawings and specifications for fire protection alarm systems, and with building and fire code analysis review and compliance. <h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Assist with the design of automatic fire alarm systems.</li>
<li>Coordinate with the project team, external vendors, other engineers and architects, while implementing design modifications as necessary.</li>
<li>Execute directions as provided by engineers and management.</li>
<li>Gather appropriate resources in order to assist in problem solving.</li>
<li>Communicate engineering design concepts professionally to engineering and non‑engineering audiences.</li>
<li>Occasional local travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Related Bachelor of Engineering degree or Engineering Technology diploma.</li>
<li>0‑3 years of fire protection and life safety experience.</li>
<li>Knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge and understanding of NFPA, FM Global, Building and Fire Code Standards.</li>
<li>Competent interpersonal and communication skills.</li>
<li>Proficient self‑leadership with attention to detail, multi‑tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.</li>
<li>Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.</li>
<li>French language proficiency is an asset.</li>
<li>A working knowledge of hydraulic calculation software is an asset.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Eligibility</h3>
<p>Must be eligible for Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability clearance.</p>
