<p>NWTS Recruiting | Fleet Maintenance Manager (Afternoon Shift)<br> Location: Brampton, Ontario (Onsite)<br> Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM<br> Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000 CAD + bonus + full benefits</p> <p>Northwest Talent Solutions (NWTS) is recruiting on behalf of a large, established environmental services and fleet operations organization in the Brampton area. This is a leadership opportunity for a maintenance professional who understands that fleet uptime, safety, and technician development directly drive operational success.</p> <p>If you've been supervising heavy-duty mechanics or running a maintenance shop and want to step into a role with real operational impact, this is a strong next move.</p> <h2>What You'll Be Responsible For:</h2> <p>You will oversee the daily maintenance operations of a service fleet and lead a team of technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient vehicle availability.</p> <p>Your day-to-day work will include:</p><ul><li> <p>Managing maintenance operations for primary and secondary fleet equipment</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and ready for operational use</p> </li> <li> <p>Leading and developing a team of technicians (310T techs, apprentices, and shop personnel)</p> </li> <li> <p>Implementing preventive maintenance programs and inspections</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinating staffing, scheduling, and shop workflow</p> </li> <li> <p>Coaching, mentoring, and performance managing employees</p> </li> <li> <p>Supporting safety programs and regulatory compliance</p> </li> <li> <p>Reviewing capital equipment needs and maintenance standards</p> </li> <li> <p>Managing maintenance budgets and controlling operating costs</p> </li> <li> <p>Using fleet management systems and maintenance tracking tools</p> </li> <li> <p>Driving a positive team culture and strong safety environment</p> </li> </ul> <p>This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be on the shop floor, working closely with mechanics and operations teams to keep the fleet moving.</p> <h2>What You Bring:</h2><ul><li> <p>5+ years leadership experience supervising mechanics or technicians</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience managing a heavy-duty fleet, truck shop, or equipment maintenance operation</p> </li> <li> <p>Background in transportation, waste services, municipal fleet, construction equipment, logistics, or similar industry</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and fleet reliability</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience coaching and developing technicians</p> </li> <li> <p>Valid driver's license</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to work onsite afternoons (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)</p> </li> </ul> <h2>Strongly Preferred:</h2><ul><li> <p>Experience in a unionized environment</p> </li> <li> <p>Managing 310T (Truck & Coach) mechanics or heavy-duty mechanics</p> </li> <li> <p>310T license (asset, not required)</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with maintenance work order systems or fleet software</p> </li> <li> <p>Budget oversight and cost-control experience</p> </li> </ul> <h2>What You'll Receive:</h2><ul><li> <p>Competitive salary ($90K–$105K CAD)</p> </li> <li> <p>Performance bonus</p> </li> <li> <p>Comprehensive benefits package</p> </li> <li> <p>Retirement savings plan with company match</p> </li> <li> <p>Paid vacation and holidays</p> </li> <li> <p>Long-term stability with a well-established organization</p> </li> <li> <p>Opportunity to grow into senior operations leadership</p> </li> </ul> <p>If you're currently a shop foreman, maintenance supervisor, fleet manager, or lead technician ready to lead a full operation, NWTS would like to speak with you confidentially.</p> <p>Apply directly or contact Northwest Talent Solutions to learn more.</p>
