We are looking for a Foreign Exchange Trader to execute foreign exchange (FX) transactions, manage the company’s position so it is within prescribed risk limits and to manage daily cash flows. This role involves working closely with internal teams, optimizing treasury operations, and ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has prior experience with FX trading and instruments, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Execute FX transactions and manage the company’s position so it is within prescribed risk limits
- Monitor cash flows and ensure the availability of funds to cover outgoing payments and approve payment files
- Monitor incoming credits, check for matching deals and distribute the matched and unmatched credits with the dealers
- Support treasury operations, including wire transfers, ACH payments
- Serve as the primary point of contact for bank-related inquiries from various departments
- Collaborate with the Business Analyst team to provide input during requirements gathering and perform comprehensive testing of new product features to ensure alignment with business needs and functional specifications
- Understanding of FX markets, macroeconomics, and currency dynamics affecting currency movements
- Pricing and managing FX Forwards and execution of FX swaps
- Act as a backup for the credit team and take credit approval decisions in absence of the credit team
- Identify opportunities for process automation within the treasury function and continuously improve treasury processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in either Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role capacity, including in foreign exchange trading
- Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite – VBA coding is an asset
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling high-pressure situations and tight deadlines
- Strong collaboration skills to coordinate with internal stakeholders across departments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
