This role will require your commitment to upholding Quantec's and our clients requirements, including; procedures, training, tests, assessments and assignments. This detailed job description outlines your duties, responsibilities, and performance evaluation criteria and will be attached to your employment agreement.</p><p></p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>Support Geophysical Projects:</p><ul><li>Utilize compasses, GPS, and other navigation tools effectively.</li><li>Be comfortable working in remote wilderness environments. Backpacking equipment through various terrains (mountains, deserts, dense forests and everything in between).</li><li>Offroad experience is an asset: 4x4 pickups, UTVs, quads and snowmobiles are used regularly to support our projects.</li><li>Support geophysical surveys using specialized equipment and techniques.</li><li>Follow established protocols to ensure accurate data collection.</li><li>Adhere to quality control standards and procedures.</li><li>Troubleshoot and perform field repairs on equipment, as needed.</li><li>Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.</li></ul><p>Health and Safety Compliance:</p><ul><li>Adhere to all health and safety requirements and protocols established by Quantec.</li><li>Follow client-specific policies, procedures, and rules regarding technical and health and safety training.</li><li>Participate in drug and alcohol tests as required by Quantec and/or clients.</li><li>Cooperate with the use of breathalyzers as part of Quantec's and/or clients' safety protocols.</li></ul><p>Professional Development and Adaptability:</p><ul><li>Continuously enhance your knowledge and skills in geophysics and related fields.</li><li>Embrace new technologies and experiences to remain at the forefront of the industry.</li><li>Prepare for potential career progression opportunities within the company.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications and Experience:</strong></p><p>Education and Background:</p><ul><li>Field/outdoor experience is a requirement.</li><li>Science background is an asset but not required.</li><li>Mining, geophysics, geology, or survey backgrounds are beneficial.</li></ul><p>Technical Skills:</p><ul><li>Proficiency in using compasses, GPS, and other relevant field equipment.</li><li>Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and field repair capabilities is advantageous.</li></ul><p>Personal Attributes:</p><ul><li>Responsible and able to work unsupervised.</li><li>Resourceful in solving problems and overcoming challenges.</li><li>Physically fit to carry a minimum of 40 lb packs of field gear while hiking in harsh weather and/or terrain conditions.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to make informed field decisions.</li><li>Strong teamwork and cooperation skills for extended durations in the field.</li></ul><p>Licenses and Certifications:</p><ul><li>Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean abstract is essential.</li><li>Authorization to work in USA.</li><li>Possession of a Passport is highly desirable to support international projects.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Employment Details:</strong></p><ul><li>Job Type: Permanent Full Time during the project duration, typical rotations range between 4-6 weeks or greater.</li><li>Base Salary Range: $185 -$205 per day.</li><li>Performance Bonus up to 10% for meeting project targets.</li><li>Meal allowance ~$50/day.</li><li>Field Techs will get a field gear allowance once they hit time in field milestones, this enables our technicians to maintain and upgrade equipment as they see fit.</li><li>Additional benefits: basic equipment allowance (PPE), flexible schedule, paid time off.</li><li>Language Requirement: English</li><li>Project Schedule: 8 to 10 -hour shifts, 7 days per week. 1 fatigue day every 2 weeks.</li><li>Supplemental Pay Types: 10% of performance-based bonus</li><li>Ability to commute/relocate while working on a specific project.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Reporting Structure:</strong></p><ul><li>Field Reporting: You will report directly to the Field Manager while in the field.</li><li>Organizational Reporting: Your position reports within the Operations Department and aligns with the Director of Operations.</li></ul><p><strong>Compliance Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Policies, Procedures, and Rules: You must comply with all policies, procedures, and rules established by Quantec Geoscience.</li><li>Client-Specific Requirements: You are expected to adhere to specific policies, procedures, and rules requested by clients, including technical and health and safety training, drug and alcohol tests, and the use of breathalyzers.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><p><p><br /></p></p></p><p><br /></p></p></p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
