Job Summary:

The Head Swim Instructor oversees all aspects of swim instruction, ensuring the delivery of high-quality aquatic programs that cater to various age groups and skill levels. This role involves teaching lessons, reviewing lesson plans, supervising swim instructors, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review lesson plans to ensure they are engaging, effective, and promote water safety and swimming proficiency while aligning with swimmers' abilities and current swim levels.
• Instruct swim lessons, demonstrating proper techniques and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
• Conduct water interviews, train, and supervise a team of swim instructors, providing ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
• Conduct regular evaluations of instructors to ensure the quality and consistency of swim instruction.
• Observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe swimming environment.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and program participation.
• Communicate effectively with participants and their families regarding progress, schedules, and any program changes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a swim instructor, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Required valid certifications: Standard First Aid with CPR-C, and National Lifeguard.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse age groups and skill levels.
• Previous competitive swimming experience is an asset.
