This is a salaried contract position, offering an exciting opportunity to support clients in the fields of construction and operations safety, with potential to convert to permanent status.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>As a Health & Safety Principal, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our clients and provide supporting all aspects of health and safety for construction projects and complex operational facilities. You’ll promote compliance with client OHS requirements; anticipate and guide risk management processes to protect workers, the public, and operations; work closely with client teams and contractors to support projects; and advise on risk trends and improvement plans.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Work Location: </strong>Mississauga, Ontario</p><p><strong>Position Type: </strong>Salary, Full-time</p><p><strong>Starting Compensation:</strong> $105,000 to $125,000 (Principal) per annum</p><p><strong>Benefits (Permanent Status Employees): </strong>Extended health benefits, dental coverage, vision coverage, life insurance, employee assistance services, pension plan, employee share option program, business advancement incentives, company workwear annual allowance, company vehicle.</p><p><strong>Industry Focus: </strong>Construction, Aviation</p><p></p><p><strong>What You’ll Be Doing</strong></p><ul><li>Providing guidance and expert advice on health, safety, and environmental issues.</li><li>Acting as a key advisor to project teams, anticipating and identifying hazard s and appropriate protective measures.</li><li>Providing health and safety input to design, planning, constructability and/or operability reviews.</li><li>Managing and reducing risks to workers and the public within a live and complex operating client site.</li><li>Undertaking health and safety assurance audits</li><li>Performing and documenting regular site safety inspections, and facilitating timely corrective actions</li><li>Assisting with incident and accident investigations.</li><li>Liaising with client staff and regulatory agencies,</li><li>Preparing detailed professional reports and records.</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>What You Need for Success</strong></p><ul><li>Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or certification in a construction trade with significant health and safety experience.</li><li><strong>Minimum of five (5) years field experience in construction or a high hazard operational environment.</strong></li><li>CRSP, CSP, CHST, CIH or ROH designation.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Ontario workplace health and safety laws.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital health and safety reporting tools (computers, tablets).</li><li>Hands-on experience with field-level audits and inspections.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, verbal and written y communication skills.</li><li>Initiative, ability to multitask, and strong expectation management skills.</li><li>Strong work ethic and career-oriented mindset.</li><li>Completion of practical training in key safe work practices (Working at Heights, WHMIS, Ontario 4/5 Steps, LOTO, Confined Spaces, etc.)</li><li>Ability to obtain a Transportation Security Clearance.</li><li>Flexibility to night shifts, if required.</li><li>Valid Class G driver’s license.</li></ul><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer</strong></p><p>CrossSafety is committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
