<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>Job description:</p><p><b><strong>Job Summary</strong></b><br />A heavy equipment mechanic with experience working within the microtunnel industry is required for a permanent role. Candidate is required to have worked within the micro tunnel industry and be competent in maintaining, diagnosing and fixing problems, as well as operating the specialized equipment. Candidate must be experienced in working within a team and have the ability to train other employees. Language of work is English.</p><p><b><strong>Duties</strong></b></p><ul><li>Instruct apprentices</li><li>Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions</li><li>Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required</li><li>Order parts and maintain inventory</li><li>Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts</li><li>Keep maintenance reports and documentation</li><li>Welding experience</li><li>Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers&#39; specifications</li><li>Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work</li><li>Service attachments and working tools</li></ul><p><b><strong>Experience</strong></b> <b><strong>and Specialization</strong></b></p><ul><li>2 to 3 years minimum of relevant experience, with a focus on tunnelling and microtunnelling projects using Herrenknecht microtunnelling equipment.</li><li>Construction Specialization: underground and tunnel Work</li><li>Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, lubrication system, engine control system, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, installation and alignment of engines and machinery</li><li>Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: cable-operated working attachments, hydraulic-operated working attachments, compressors, pumps, electric generators, industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts</li><li>Mechanical Maintenance and Repair Specialization: mechanical transmissions, drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, off-road vehicle tires and wheels, brake system</li></ul><p><b><strong>Additional Information:</strong></b></p><p><b><strong>Work Setting:</strong></b></p><ul><li>Various locations</li><li>Outdoor work environment</li></ul><p><b><strong>Security and Safety Check:</strong></b></p><ul><li>Driver&#39;s validity license check required</li></ul><p><b><strong>Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:</strong></b></p><ul><li>Physically demanding (standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, crouching)</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Hand-eye coordination</li><li>handling heavy loads (up to 23kg)</li><li>Manual Dexterity</li><li>Overtime required</li></ul><p><b><strong>Personal Suitability:</strong></b></p><ul><li>Accurate</li><li>Dependability</li><li>Excellent oral communication</li><li>Flexibility</li><li>Judgement</li><li>Reliability</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent</p><p>Benefits:</p><p><br /></p><p><b><strong>Pay:</strong></b> CA$36.25 - CA$45.00 per hour</p><ul><li>Dental care</li><li>Extended health care</li><li>Vision care</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Work Location: In person</p><p><br /></p><p>Join our team of professionals dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in the operation of heavy equipment.
