Job Description
<p><p>Our client is seeking to hire a legal administrative assistant to work in their Surrey office and assist their general litigation team.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Opening, organizing, and closing files</li>
<li>Drafting and sending correspondence, authorizations, and discovery appointments</li>
<li>Managing intake of documents and file‑related materials and updating binders</li>
<li>Preparing litigation documents and pleadings, including application records and Briefs of Authorities</li>
<li>Scheduling mediations, XFDs, trials, client meetings, and maintaining electronic calendars</li>
<li>Maintaining a BF and limitation system</li>
<li>Frequent communication with opposing counsel, adjusters, and clients</li>
<li>Other administrative tasks as needed</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications and Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post‑secondary institution</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of working experience as an LAA</li>
<li>Knowledge of BC litigation processes and court procedures</li>
<li>Proficient with MS Word and Outlook</li>
<li>Solid understanding of litigation procedures, court filing, and service procedures</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>Excellent time management skills, verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to exercise good judgment, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality</li>
<li>Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast‑paced environment</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment</li>
</ul>
<p>Offered is a competitive salary ranging from $56,000 – $65,000 per annum along with a comprehensive benefits package, flexible and individual work arrangements and eligibility to enroll in pension plans after two years.</p></p>
