About the Role
As an Organizational Design Consultant, you’ll be a key strategic advisor, working directly with our client’s business leaders and a global consulting firm. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll drive critical initiatives to optimize target operating models, redefine roles, and establish robust governance structures. You’ll be instrumental in leading workforce transitions and ensuring our organizational design efforts translate into real-world success within the complex landscape of digital infrastructure.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity with the strong possibility of extension, offering a competitive rate for top-tier talent. While the primary base is remote or hybrid in Toronto, you’ll be collaborating with a highly experienced team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Strategic Org Design: Design and implement cutting-edge organizational models, from conceptualization through to successful execution, ensuring alignment with our client’s overarching business goals and global operations.
- Drive Change & Transition: Spearhead end-to-end change management efforts, including workforce transition planning, role realignments, and communication strategies to ensure smooth transitions across a complex, interconnected organization.
- Advise & Collaborate: Partner closely with business leaders and stakeholders at all levels, acting as a trusted expert who can navigate complex challenges and provide actionable solutions within a rapidly evolving industry.
- Project Leadership: Manage key aspects of project execution for org design initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, mitigating risks, and providing clear updates to stakeholders.
- Team Effectiveness: Facilitate sessions and discussions to align new designs with workforce capabilities and business objectives across various global functions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of dedicated experience in Organizational Design, specifically leading the design and implementation of complex org transformations within large, dynamic organizations. This isn’t about drawing charts; it’s about hands-on, impactful delivery.
- Proven Consulting Pedigree: Significant experience (ideally 2+ years) from a major, reputable consulting firm (e.g., PwC, Accenture, Deloitte) is highly preferred. Your experience must be onshore and client-facing, demonstrating direct involvement in implementing strategic org design solutions.
- Strategic & Executive Acumen: You’re comfortable operating at a senior level, engaging with executives, and driving strategic conversations that shape the future of a global digital infrastructure leader.
- Project Management Savvy: While Org Design is your core, you possess strong project management skills to ensure initiatives stay on track, identifying risks and solutions proactively.
- Change Management Expertise: You understand how to embed change into design, anticipate impacts, and advise leadership on effective communication strategies for large-scale transformations.
- Proactive & Solutions-Oriented: We need someone who can identify gaps, anticipate challenges, and walk in with solutions – a true “scrappy survivor” who thrives in dynamic, sometimes ambiguous, environments like ours.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Certifications in Change Management, Organizational Design, or Project Management are a plus.
What Will Set You Apart:
- Experience working directly in Org Design roles within large banking, energy, or other complex global technology/infrastructure corporations.
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates your direct involvement in Org Design implementation projects (work samples will be required).
