They serve customers in the trade, construction, and manufacturing sectors; electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc., and are known for reliable service, strong customer relationships, and operational excellence.<br><br> They are looking for a <strong>HR Generalist</strong> to join their Head Office team. This role supports both day-to-day HR functions and broader business partnership responsibilities across their branch network. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, and providing practical HR support in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.<br><br><strong>Position Details<br /></strong><br /> The HR Generalist will work closely with branch and regional managers to support employees and ensure consistent HR practices are upheld across the business. The role covers key areas such as onboarding, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, and benefits administration. You’ll act as a reliable point of contact for employees, and a effective partner to management.<br><br><strong>Role Responsibilities<br /></strong><br />• Act as a primary point of contact for employees and managers on all HR-related matters<br /> • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of employees across all locations - both hourly and salaried<br /> • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation<br /> • Coordinate and participate in performance review processes<br /> • Support compensation and benefits administration, including salary reviews and job evaluations<br /> • Deliver employee training and development programs<br /> • Assist with organizational planning, talent management, and succession initiatives<br /> • Promote employee engagement and positive workplace culture<br /> • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal HR policies<br /> • Lead/assist with workplace investigations and disciplinary processes<br /> • Support health, safety, and return-to-work programs<br /> • Prepare and maintain accurate HR metrics, reports, and employee records<br /> • Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and digital initiatives<br /> • Partner with leadership on change management and communication strategies<br /> • Advise managers on best practices in recruitment, coaching, and team development<br><br><strong>Requirements<br /></strong><br /> • Completed post-secondary education<br /> • CHRP, CHRL designation or working towards<br /> • minimum 5 years of HR professional experience, ideally supporting multiple locations or field-based teams (retail, distribution, logistics, etc)<br /> • Experience in a multi-site distribution, logistics, retail or similar environment <br /> • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills<br /> • Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices<br /> • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team<br />• Minimal overnight travel may be required for ongoing training & development.<br><br> This is a great opportunity to join a respected business where HR has a direct impact on people, performance, and growth.<br><br>Please apply through the DMC Recruitment website.
