Our client in the aerospace industry is acquiring a manufacturing company located in the Greater Toronto Area.
To support this transition, we are seeking an Interim Controller to lead the onsite post-merger integration of financial systems and processes.
This is a high-impact role with the potential to convert into a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the integration of financial systems and reporting structures between the two organizations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations during the transition
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards
- Align financial reporting processes, chart of accounts, and budgeting systems
- Support the consolidation of financial data and assist with forecasting and variance analysis
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders
- Identify process improvements and standardization opportunities during the integration
- Train and support existing finance staff through the transition period
Qualifications:
- CPA designation required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within manufacturing or aerospace sectors
- Prior experience with M&A or post-merger financial system integration is highly preferred
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills
Start: June
Duration: 3 months, possible conversion to full time employee
Time commitment: Expected 5 days per week
Location: Hybrid, with few days per week on site at client in Greater Toronto
Expected range: $75 – $90 CAD per hour
