We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Law clerk to join our team (Real Estate). In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal and administrative assistance to the Team’s lawyers and other staff. You will be expected to use your knowledge of legal practices and procedures to ensure that all work is done accurately and efficiently and in accordance with the firm’s conduct.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Draft, review, and revise real estate documents, including purchase agreements, leases, mortgage documents, and closing statements. Ensure all documentation complies with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough title searches to ascertain property ownership and any encumbrances. Prepare title reports and summarize findings for lawyers and clients.
- Coordinate real estate closings, including scheduling, preparing closing documents, and ensuring all conditions are met. Facilitate communication between all parties involved, including buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate agents.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering inquiries related to their real estate transactions. Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise during the transaction process.
- Maintain organized files and records of all transactions. Managing calendar and scheduling for real estate transactions and related activities.
- Stay updated on changes in real estate law and regulations. Conduct legal research as needed to support real estate transactions and resolve legal issues.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of real estate transactions and related legal documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and use of related software.
- Experience with Real estate practice management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently
