Compensation : $48,888 – $61,110

We are seeking a mission-driven Lead, Regulatory Affairs, passionate about creating accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities in Canada where people with low vision can thrive without barriers or discrimination.

  • Act as CNIB’s expert on national accessibility regulations and standards, including the Accessible Canada Act, Canadian Transportation Agency regulations, and CRTC accessibility regulations.
  • Manage CNIB’s relationship with Accessibility Standards Canada.
  • Engage individuals who are blind to gather feedback for CNIB’s responses to consultations.
  • Support projects advancing CNIB’s advocacy for accessible built environments.
  • Coordinate CNIB’s responses to regulatory consultations.
  • Monitor federal regulations and standards related to accessibility.
  • Identify and pursue federal funding opportunities and collaborate with philanthropy to support initiatives.
  • Support CNIB’s international efforts and help integrate international frameworks into policies.
  • Assist in developing CNIB’s quarterly advocacy newsletter.
  • Communicate CNIB’s key messages effectively through presentations and briefing materials.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and legislative obligations, including the Lobbying Act.
  • Collaborate across the organization to operationalize the goals of “Stronger Together” in advocacy efforts.


Requirements

Education and Certifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience and Qualifications


  • 2-3 years’ experience in advocacy, accessibility, government relations, or policy analysis.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards and regulations.
  • Experience supporting advocacy, accessibility, and government initiatives.
  • Professional attitude, self-starter, adaptable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects efficiently.
  • Passion for diversity, accessibility, and inclusion issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce is an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience with blindness, sight loss, or assistive technology is an asset.
