<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>LEGAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – COMMERCIAL LITIGATION</strong></p><p>On behalf of our client, TEEMA is seeking a <strong>Legal Administrative Assistant, Commercial Litigation</strong>. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a Canadian law firm. <em>The position offers 2 days a week from home after the probationary period of 3 months onsite.</em></p><p><br /><strong>Responsibilities of the Position:</strong><br />• Liaise with other legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers and clients regarding file progress<br />• Draft and transcribe legal documents, basic pleadings and correspondence<br />• Manage and maintain bring forward system for tasks and appointments<br />• Organize meetings, trials, and other court dates<br />• Prepare application records<br />• Keeping files up-to-date<br />• Process all outgoing correspondence and sort incoming mail<br />• Preparing monthly accounts<br />• Prepare expense reports<br />• Other various general administrative duties, as required<br><br><strong>What you MUST have:</strong><br />• Positive, professional, can-do attitude<br />• Completion of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program<br />• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant<br />• Advanced computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook<br />• Keyboarding at a minimum or 60wpm<br />• Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills<br />• A thorough understanding of civil litigation rules and procedures<br />• Excellent written (grammar, spelling, proofreading) and verbal communication skills<br />• High level organizational skills with a strong attention to detail to produce quality and accurate work<br />• Ability to prioritize tasks by deadline, work calmly under pressure and manage high volume of work in a fast-paced environment<br />• Proven ability to take initiative and be proactive, as well as follow instructions and adhere to strict deadlines<br />• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants<br />• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a contributing member in a team environment<br><br><strong>Compensation + Benefits</strong><br />The salary range for this role is <strong>$65,000 - $80,000 + RRSP, 3 weeks holiday, 12 personal days, salary review annually, and many more benefits!</strong></p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
