Litigation Lawyer – Toronto 3-7 Years High-End Commercial Litigation

We’re working with a leading Toronto litigation boutique known for its complex, high-stakes matters across a broad range of industries. The firm is looking to add a skilled Litigation Associate (3-7 years) to their growing team.
The Role
You’ll play a hands-on role in running complex commercial litigation matters-from strategy and drafting through to discoveries, hearings, and trial.
Ideal candidates will have strong courtroom instincts, excellent writing skills, and the drive to take ownership of files in a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Files You’ll Work On
A broad range of sophisticated disputes, including:
• Breach of contract and shareholder disputes
• Securities litigation and regulatory matters
• Fraud, misrepresentation, and civil conspiracy claims
• Oppression remedies and corporate governance disputes
• Professional negligence and fiduciary duty claims
• Injunctions, Mareva and Norwich Orders, and urgent relief
• Arbitration (domestic and international)
• Appeals to the ONCA and SCC
• Cross-border litigation and jurisdictional challenges
• Class actions and complex multi-party proceedings
What You’ll Be Doing
• Leading and supporting on all stages of litigation, from pleadings to appeal
• Conducting legal research and drafting persuasive memoranda, facta, and submissions
• Arguing motions and attending court on contested and procedural matters
• Managing discovery processes and coordinating with experts
• Engaging with clients on strategy, updates, and case developments
• Preparing for trial, arbitration, or appeal, including witness prep and case management
• Working closely with senior counsel and mentoring junior team members
What You Bring
• 3-7 years of litigation experience, ideally at a commercial or litigation-focused firm
• Strong knowledge of Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and court practices
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex files and work independently
• Confidence appearing before the Ontario Superior Court (experience at ONCA or tribunals a plus)
• Commitment to professionalism, detail, and delivering high-calibre work
