Job Description

Maintenance Mechanic

PERMANENT 3 shift rotation - up to $35/hr + benefits

LOCATION: Mississauga, Ontario

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR Licensed Millwright OR equivalent hands-on experience
5 years+ experience in a similar role in manufacturing environment
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using wrenches, hammers, drills, other tools
Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues
Hands-on, self-motivated individual
Record of successfully managing & executing multiple projects while meeting quality, timeline and budgetary objectives
Ability to be a team player and interact with Operators, Management team members
Computer literate

Duties:

Serve as a key technical maintenance resource for the manufacturing operation, focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution for electronic / mechanical equipment issues
Work with a continuous improvement mindset to reduce cost, breakdowns, and wastage
Provide expertise and knowledge when required to Operators, Lead Hands, Supervisors, Managers
Maintain adherence to GMP/AIB, Health and Safety standards and company regulations
Assembling and installing machines ; test to make sure they are working correctly
Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
Perform inspections and lock-out procedures as required
Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
Perform preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
Use mechanical technical skills to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints
Participate in the health and safety, food safety and environmental programs
Adhere to safety guidelines and work in compliance with safety regulations
