Job Description
The responsibilities of this position will primarily include (i) overseeing Canadian tax compliance requirements, including the management of tax compliance and operations processes for certain private funds and public infrastructure vehicles; (ii) assisting in monthly and quarterly tax reporting work; (iii) managing tax authority audit activity; and (iv) managing tax inquiries for various funds. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development and growth as a Tax professional in a highly dynamic and challenging work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with consolidated quarterly tax provision in accordance with IFRS for BIG’s public infrastructure vehicles;
- Review tax provision packages prepared by Canadian portfolio companies;
- Oversee Canadian tax compliance (corporations, partnerships, foreign reporting and other information returns) processes for certain private funds and internal holding entities;
- Assist with various Brookfield group tax initiatives including Pillar 2 reporting, EIFEL reporting, foreign accrual property income computations, surplus computations and excluded property assessment processes;
- Oversee with tax operations processes for certain private funds;
- Manage tax audits and respond to tax queries from the Canada Revenue Agency;
- Respond to tax queries from investors in public infrastructure vehicles and private funds;
- Assist other members of the global tax team on various initiatives.

Education and Experience
- CPA with at least 4 years of corporate tax experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm or equivalent;
- Good understanding of and experienced in tax accounting for publicly traded entities under IFRS;
- Experience in managing large Canadian tax compliance projects;
- Strong understanding of domestic Canadian tax issues for large corporations;
- Basic understanding of cross-border tax issues and Pillar 2;
- Completion of Parts I to III of the CPA Indepth Tax Course or Master of Tax.
