What you will be doing in the role of Mechanical Drafter:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Interfacing dynamically with Mechanical Designers and Project Engineers to prepare drawings, resolve mechanical issues and implement changes as required to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget
- Drafting detailed specifications of mechanical systems including fuel trains, hydronic systems, vessels, and clean in place skids
- Creating mechanical drawing packages including shop spool drawings, Isometrics, BOM’s, assembly drawings and layouts
- Drafting skid’s structures and preparing related fabrication shop drawings
- Maintaining design libraries
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
- Technologist, College or University Degree in a relevant field
- 1-5 years of experience in a Mechanical Drafting role
- Proficiency in Modelling/Drafting techniques and standards
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Micro station
- Knowledge of basic principles, methods, and practices involved in the design of mechanical systems
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles
- Ability to prepare complex schematic drawings from rough sketches, survey data, and oral instructions
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of Applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a very schedule sensitive environment
