Job Description
<p>Under supervision and direction, responsible for the proper collection of appropriate specimens for laboratory testing on inpatients and outpatients. Performs a variety of laboratory tasks, including but not exclusive to specimen reception, sorting and labeling, data entry, specimen separation and preparation, which require learned manual skills rather than a technological training. Assists the Medical Laboratory Technologists in various sections within the Department of Laboratory Medicine. </p><p>1. Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent <br>2. OSMT or CSMLS Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant <br>3. Recent experience in Core Laboratory <br>4. Experience in receiving and handling Laboratory Specimens <br>5. Experience and demonstrated proficiency in venous and capillary blood collection for pediatrics and infants <br>6. Data entry and Order entry skills in Meditech <br>7.
