Our multidisciplinary team (OT, ABA/BCBA, psychology, SLP, educators) supports neurodivergent children and youth through individualized, holistic treatment plans that integrate movement, sensory regulation, and primitive reflex work with functional life skills and family coaching.</p><p>The Role</p><p>Were seeking an Occupational Therapist (Contract) with demonstrated skill in primitive reflex <span >assessment/integration</span> and movement-based intervention to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to individualized, whole-child treatment plans.</p><p>What Your Day Looks Like</p><ul><li>Provide assessment, treatment, consultation, and service planning for individuals with ASD in the community, at clients homes, and on-site.</li><li>Conduct standardized and non-standardized OT assessments; collaborate with families and the service team to build a comprehensive plan aligned to OT domains.</li><li>Integrate primitive reflex <span >screening/integration,</span> sensory regulation, and neuro-motor development into functional goals (ADLs, school participation, community skills).</li><li>Deliver education/coaching to families, staff, and community partners to support autistic individuals.</li><li>Lead/assist with program and service development and continuous evaluation for OT services.</li><li>Attend, contribute, advocate, and inform at Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Urgent Response Services (URS) meetings and others, as appropriate.</li><li>Share relevant resources and home programs with <span >clients/caregivers.</span></li><li>Participate in team meetings, clinical rounds, and case conferences.</li><li>Other related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Assess skills and provide intervention related to emotional regulation, social skills, sensory processing, and oral/fine/gross motor development.</li><li>Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (ABA/BCBA, psychology, SLP, education) to design cohesive, individualized programming.</li><li>Adhere to standards of practice for assessment protocols, therapeutic techniques, documentation, and direct handling.</li><li>Teach and mentor staff/students in program implementation and best practices.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality and privacy per organizational policies and applicable legislation.</li><li>Engage in ongoing professional development.</li><li>Contribute consistently to a data-informed practice culture (clear goals, measures, progress reviews).</li></ul><p>What You Bring</p><ul><li>Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy.</li><li>Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).</li><li>Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role (pediatrics/ASD preferred).</li><li>Demonstrated experience with primitive reflexes (screening, integration strategies) and movement-based OT.</li><li>Experience with children with developmental disabilities and/or Autism is an asset.</li><li>Understanding of early childhood development, autism, and applied behaviour analysis (ABA) and how OT integrates within a multidisciplinary plan.</li><li>Strong knowledge and application of the OT framework, <span >administration/interpretation</span> of standardized & non-standardized assessments, <span >augmentative/written</span> communication assessments, technology-supported interventions, and appropriate OT strategies.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills; clear, family-friendly reporting.</li><li>Solid data collection, filing, and report writing skills.</li><li>Proven team player who also works independently with sound judgment.</li><li>Effective problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; comfort with EMR/clinical software.</li><li>Vulnerable Sector Screening (current/clear).</li></ul><p>Working Conditions</p><ul><li>If working remotely at times, you have a secure, private, and suitably furnished workspace.</li><li>Reliable transportation for community and home-based visits.</li><li>Work occurs on-site and off-site (client homes, community locations).</li><li>Occasional evenings/weekends to meet client needs.</li></ul><p>Contract Details</p><ul><li>Independent contractor arrangement with flexible scheduling.</li><li>Competitive contractor rates (commensurate with experience, scope, and travel).</li><li>Caseload and hours <span >flexible/negotiable.</span></li><li><span >Malpractice/professional</span> liability coverage required.</li></ul><p><br /></p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
