About Us:

WeShall was founded by Wes Hall, one of Canada’s foremost entrepreneurs, and his innovative, entrepreneurial spirit permeates everything we do. Wes is equally comfortable in a Bay Street boardroom or mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, and he has assembled a multidisciplinary team to scale his vision across industries and markets.
Your Role:
WeShall Investments is seeking a highly capable and experienced Office Manager / Human Resources Director to lead HR strategy and execution while managing the day-to-day operations of our Toronto office. In this dual-role, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR activities—from recruitment and compliance to performance management and culture-building—while also ensuring the smooth, professional, and efficient functioning of our corporate office.
This is a high-impact role requiring sound judgment, discretion, and a hands-on approach. You’ll work closely with executive leadership at WeShall and key portfolio companies (particularly Kingsdale Advisors), and serve as a trusted, cross-functional resource. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and thrives in a dynamic, high-performance environment where excellence, integrity, and precision are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Leadership
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, programs, and best practices aligned with the strategic objectives of WeShall and its operating companies.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, engagement, and offboarding.
- Support the recruitment and retention of top-performing professionals in shareholder services, capital markets, governance, and consulting.
- Provide HR advisory support to senior executives and portfolio leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring cost-effective, competitive programs that align with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws in Ontario and relevant international jurisdictions (e.g., U.S. and Caribbean).
- Partner with legal, finance, and compliance teams on matters involving employment standards, contracts, and confidential documentation.
- Champion a performance-oriented, inclusive culture across the organization.
- Track HR metrics and use data-driven insights to inform decisions, improve processes, and guide workforce strategy.
Office Management
- Oversee daily office operations, including facilities, vendor management, office supplies, and technology coordination.
- Ensure a polished, professional, and efficient office environment that reflects the standards of a high-performing investment and advisory firm.
- Manage the front office and reception function to ensure an excellent experience for employees, guests, and external partners.
- Coordinate internal communications, company-wide meetings, and corporate events.
- Liaise with property management to ensure the workplace remains safe, functional, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with administrative personnel across portfolio companies to ensure operational alignment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CHRP or CHRL designation strongly preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within financial services, private equity, consulting, or entrepreneurial environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing office operations in a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR compliance practices.
- Experience supporting or advising executives and leadership teams on sensitive and high-level organizational matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Exceptional discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution.
