Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required
Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding and sandblasting
Operate or tend automated spray paint equipment or other mechanized painting or product coating application equipment
Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture
Apply paint or other materials for fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment
Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment in a safe manor
Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages
Other duties that are required
Requirements
1 year of previous painting and helping experience is accepted.
Punctual
Attention to detail
Able to work standing for long periods
Be able to work on field jobs and outside
Able to work on the road for multiple weeks
Previous experience with sandblasting is an asset
Able to work in a safe manor
Able to work in a confined space
Ability to work on manlifts at high heights
Able to work outside in cold weather
