<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Part-time Program Leader for School Aged Programs — Summerland, BC. BGC Okanagan is hiring to support after-school programs and create safe, engaging spaces where children can play, create, and connect after school.</p><ul><li>Join an organization where you help kids discover where they belong.</li><li>Grow professionally with sponsored development, leadership training, and opportunities to thrive.</li><li>Benefit from a cost-shared plan, paid vacation and sick time, and childcare discounts.</li><li>Be part of a positive, inclusive environment where your ideas and energy are valued.</li></ul><h3>Key Duties And Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.</li><li>Oversees day-to-day program operations, ensures facilities and equipment are in place, adheres to program guidelines and licensing requirements, and maintains program standards.</li><li>Makes recommendations to the supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation, and program evaluation.</li><li>Promotes public awareness and support for the program by producing promotional materials and attending community events.</li><li>Coordinates with community service providers and professionals to facilitate referrals and represent the organization at external events.</li><li>Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.</li><li>Performs other related duties as required.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>A diploma, certificate, or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education, or other social services.</li><li>Current First Aid certificate and 20 Hours Responsible Adult training or willingness to obtain.</li><li>Class 4 driver’s license or willingness to obtain it immediately.</li><li>Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check.</li><li>Must be at least 19 years of age as per Provincial Licensing Regulations.</li></ul><p>This position is open to all applicants and requires Union membership.</p><p>Hours: 25 hours per week during the school year, Monday to Friday 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm.</p><p>Rate of Pay: $19.82 per hour.</p><p>Closing Date: Open until filled.</p><p><b>Equal Opportunity Statement:</b> BGC Okanagan is committed to equitable and inclusive employment practices.
