We are currently seeking a Project Accountant for our Toronto Studio.
Job Summary
This Project Accountant supports project financial operations including billing, accounts receivable and payable, and timesheet verification. This role ensures accurate data entry, financial compliance, and timely communication with internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review staff timesheets for coding, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Process daily cash receipts and prepare bank deposits.
- Conduct A/R follow-up and support invoice adjustments and client requests.
- Manage vendor invoices and full A/P cycle, including approvals and data entry.
- Maintain orderly financial records and filing systems.
- Ensure all work aligns with the firm’s Project Delivery standards, including proper use of filing systems, adherence to architectural procedures, and compliance with drawing and documentation protocols.
Cross-Functional Coordinator
- Reconcile financial documents and support preparation of reports.
- Assist in accounting system maintenance and data accuracy.
- Provide backup support in financial accounting areas as needed.
- Support a collaborative, in-office environment through effective team engagement.
- Able to work in a collaborative, in-office environment (100% in-office presence required to support direct team engagement and effective cross-functional coordination).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
- 5–10 years of project accounting experience; A/E or professional services background preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Deltek Ajera, Vantagepoint preferred).
- Strong financial analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
