Pay Range

Commensurate with experience.



The Project Manager (the Manager) will lead project team(s) in both the execution and adoption of high value projects and initiatives aligned with VHA’s operational and strategic annual deliverables. This role will develop and maintain sustainable processes to keep stakeholders informed of projects’ status, risks, and execute mitigation strategies with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to VHA.



Key Areas of Accountabilities


  • Focus on ensuring successful delivery while ensuring strong adoption and realization of benefits.

  • Championing a co-design approach.


  • Ensure voices for clients, families, frontline staff, and partners drive projects from conception to completion.

  • Using tools and processes to drive sustainable and quality care delivery.


  • Assess risks and proactively mitigate project and operational constraints while championing a future-proofing mindset.

  • Develop and maintain sustainable processes to keep stakeholders informed of projects’ status, risks, and execute mitigation strategies with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to VHA.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related health care discipline or business degree is required.



  • Advanced degree, e.g. Masters Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration or equivalent ideal.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.


  • A minimum of five years’ experience of project management, preferably in health-related, non-profit, or public service sectors.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal partners and stakeholders.


  • Proven ability to promote a culture of collaboration.

  • Experience in supporting and applying a design approach in the delivery of projects that require significant change management and impact standard operating practices within a health care setting.


  • Experience in leading and supporting project teams.


  • Excellent project management skills, utilizing project planning techniques and project planning tools and documentation, e.g., project charter, project plan, work breakdown structures, lessons-learned, status reports, Gantt charts, critical path analysis, etc.



  • Proactively identifies project risks and recommend solutions and mitigation strategies.

  • Proficient in developing collaborative plans with multiple stakeholders.


  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict.

  • Ability to support and motivate a cross-functional project team to deliver change with a focus on benefits realization.


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects with competing timelines, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of quality.


  • Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.



  • Experience in applying quality improvement methodologies to achieve outcomes is valuable (e.g., process mapping, value stream analysis, kaizen events etc.)
