We are inviting expressions of interest from Medical Oncologists or Hematologists currently practicing in Ontario for a pivotal leadership opportunity to help shape the future of systemic cancer treatment across the province.


Location: Toronto / Virtual

Commitment: 2 days/week


Duration: 3 years (+ optional 3-year extension)

This is a rare and meaningful opportunity to provide provincial-level strategic leadership in the design, implementation, funding, and continuous improvement of the Systemic Treatment Program. This role provides oversight across the full continuum-from policy and performance to quality and planning-while collaborating with cancer leads, clinical councils, regional leaders, and external stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic direction and evolution of the provincial Systemic Treatment Program.
  • Oversee funding models and ensure accountability for system funding and quality.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to align efforts with cancer plans.
  • Support regional quality initiatives and provide leadership to related programs (e.g., drug reimbursement, workforce planning).
  • Act as a spokesperson and trusted clinical advisor for issues relating to systemic treatment.
  • Mentor regional and provincial advisors and contribute to performance management of key staff.


Qualifications:

  • Medical Oncologist or Hematologist with CPSO registration and 10+ years of clinical experience in Ontario.
  • Respected clinical leader with experience in research, teaching, and health system engagement.
  • Expertise in cancer care delivery, health funding models, and strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to build consensus, lead change, and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to equity, quality, and evidence-informed, patient-centered care.
